PORTER’S PLACE

The Story of Porter's Place

Remembering a Utah dining institution founded in 1971.

From Lehi to Eureka

Porter’s Place opened in 1971 and served generations of diners on Lehi’s Main Street. In 2018, after nearly five decades in Lehi, the restaurant relocated to Eureka, Utah.

The restaurant has since closed. This site preserves its story, and no reopening date has been announced.

Artifacts with stories of their own

The 1881 saloon bar: The restaurant’s bar came from a Montana saloon and was part of Porter’s Place from its earliest years.

The Hotel Utah beehive clock: The clock by the register was originally designed for the Hotel Utah’s 1912 grand opening.

These historic details helped create the restaurant’s unmistakable atmosphere.

A restaurant named for a legend

Porter’s Place honored the heritage and stories of Orrin Porter Rockwell, a notable figure in early Utah history.

The memories remain

Though the restaurant is currently closed, its history, menu, and memories live on.
